We spent some time with our Kindergarten buddies! We helped them with a project and read aloud to them. We can't wait to host them in our classroom again soon!
Social studies this week was a ton of fun! We got to work with tons of maps, the atlas, and make huge posters with our friends!
Third graders ran their hearts out on Friday at the annual Torch Run. A huge THANK YOU to families and friends that donated their time and money towards this event. Palisades is truly blessed to have such a strong support system and wonderful community.
We didn't let the rain stop us from having fun on our field trip to Arbor Day Farms in Nebraska City. We learned a ton about growing trees, pollination, and how to properly pick apples. We even tasted apple cider! One of our favorite activities (besides eating a picnic lunch in an awesome barn) was using our entire class to create a big tree. At the end of our tour we each got a small tree to take home and plant.
What a great week! We caught some butterflies at recess, signed Jesse's cast, and took advantage of the nice weather during math.
We had an awesome week in third grade! We learned more about place value and worked in groups to arrange numbers from least to greatest. We also became human numbers and linked arms to represent numbers with different place values. One day Mrs. Troester even let us write on our desks!

Today we began the study of seeds in science class. Each student paired up with another classmate and studied the characteristics of seeds in a watermelon. We also discussed the similarities and differences between watermelon seeds and other types of seeds. Of course we taste tested too!
