This week we began our unit on Motion and Matter in science. We kicked it off by learning about magnetic FORCE. Here are a few pictures with our work buddies.
What do you do when your teacher gives you marshmallows, toothpicks, and glue and says "GO"? You make snowmen of course!
The last day of school before winter break was a blast! Thanks moms and dads for coming to celebrate with us!
We got to perform our Holiday Reader's Theater for the other third grade classes, our buddies, and siblings!
When Mrs. Troester told us we were dissecting owl pellets, we were CERTAIN she was talking about owl poop. We were shocked to find out the REAL facts behind owl pellets...
We spent some time with our Kindergarten buddies! We helped them with a project and read aloud to them. We can't wait to host them in our classroom again soon!
Social studies this week was a ton of fun! We got to work with tons of maps, the atlas, and make huge posters with our friends!
Third graders ran their hearts out on Friday at the annual Torch Run. A huge THANK YOU to families and friends that donated their time and money towards this event. Palisades is truly blessed to have such a strong support system and wonderful community.
We didn't let the rain stop us from having fun on our field trip to Arbor Day Farms in Nebraska City. We learned a ton about growing trees, pollination, and how to properly pick apples. We even tasted apple cider! One of our favorite activities (besides eating a picnic lunch in an awesome barn) was using our entire class to create a big tree. At the end of our tour we each got a small tree to take home and plant.
What is going on in the classroom?
On this page you can see what we are working on each week. I will post pictures and information to keep you involved in your child's learning.
